IVBRC will be hosting an Information Session with USDA Rural Development's State Director Maria Gallegos Herrera about funding opportunities for small businesses and agricultural producers in collaboration with Imperial Valley Economic Development Corporation.

Presented by USDA Rural Development representatives, the meeting will provide information and answer questions about two funding opportunities:

• The Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) provides grants and guaranteed loans to small businesses and agricultural producers for renewable energy systems and energy efficiency improvements such as equipment purchasing and installations that can also help lower energy costs.

• The Value Added Producer Grant (VAPG) helps agricultural producers generate new products, create marketing opportunities and increase producer income by funding working capital expenses such as processing costs, marketing, advertising, inventory and salaries.

This event is no cost and open to the public.
